Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
August 22, 2026 – 6:00 p.m. GMT

The Vikings’ preseason programme returns home to Minnesota in its second week. After two days of joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens, the two teams square off at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday evening in what will be the Norsemen’s last game there before their week 1 clash with the Green Bay Packers.
Both teams come into this game off the back of wins in their preseason openers, and while records count for nothing at this stage of the season, another victory would be a welcome confidence boost for a Vikings team still working things out for the 2026 season.

What uniforms are the Vikings wearing against the Ravens?
As the home team, the Vikings have first choice of colours and will likely wear their traditional home uniforms of purple jerseys, white pants and purple socks. The Ravens will therefore wear their road uniforms of white jerseys, purple pants and white socks.
Ones to watch

With Harrison Smith’s future still up in the air, the Vikings have an opening at the starting safety position alongside veteran Joshua Metellus. Jay Ward – going into his fourth year with the Vikings – was named at the position on the team’s unofficial depth chart last week, and made a good case for holding onto the role for week 1 after taking advantage of a blown protection to lay a highlight-reel hit on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. Meanwhile, Jacob Thomas will be hoping his fourth-quarter pick will give the Vikings front office a reason to name him on the final 53-man roster.
On offense, Myles Price led the Vikings in receiving yards on Saturday, as well as scoring their only touchdown of the game. He’s been impressing in training camp too, and strong gameday performances could see him hit the depth chart as the Vikings’ WR4 as well as their primary kick and punt returner.
Special teams isn’t always a glamourous aspect to the game, but it is a vital one, especially when players are asked to multitask in the way that punters are. As well as being expected to give their teams good field position after a stalled offensive drive, punters are often the primary holders for field goal and extra point attempts. International Player Pathway prospect Brett Thorson showed he could do both against the Giants; if that trend continues in preseason, he could unseat Johnny Hekker as the Vikings’ punter going forward.
Previous meetings

The Vikings and the Ravens have only met twice in preseason action, coming out on top on both occasions. The most recent meeting was in Baltimore in 2008, when the Vikings won 23–15. Their only preseason meeting in Minnesota was much more one-sided, as the defense contributed two touchdowns to a 30–7 win in 2006.
The Ravens have the upper hand in regular-season meetings between them, though, with five wins out of eight; however, most of those have come in Baltimore. The Vikings have won two of the three meetings in Minneapolis, although the most recent clash last season saw the Ravens come out on top 27–19.
Vikings team news
After playing only the first series against the Giants, Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to sit out on Saturday against the Ravens. J. J. McCarthy will likely take the starting QB role, backed up by Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer.
One of the negatives from last week’s game against the Giants was the non-contact injury suffered by linebacker Jamal Adams. The injury was later confirmed to be a torn right quadriceps, and Adams was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
The team brought in cornerback Bryce Phillips, recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs after being signed as an undrafted free agent. They also signed former Carolina Panthers linebacker Kenny Dyson, and former Falcons and Panthers guard Joshua Gray.
