Indianapolis Colts @ Minnesota Vikings
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
October 25, 2026 – 5:00 p.m. GMT

The Vikings return to action after a much-needed bye with a home game against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. The Packers and Bears took advantage of the Vikings and Lions being on a fallow week with respective victories, so Minnesota will be hoping to maintain their lead in the division with a win at a venue quickly becoming a fortress for the boys in purple.
The bye has given a few Vikings a longer opportunity to recover from injury, and it should be a full-strength team that goes into the game against Indianapolis. The Colts have one of the best rushing attacks in the league, but the Vikings’ defense has been stern this year. Will it be the unstoppable force or the immovable object that comes out on top this time around?

What uniforms are the Vikings wearing against the Colts?
As the home team, the Vikings have first choice of uniforms for Sunday’s game. They haven’t selected this game to have any particular theme, so they should be wearing their primary purple jerseys; however, they will also be wearing purple pants and socks, giving them the rare purple-on-purple look. The Colts are expected to wear their primary road uniforms of white jerseys, pants and socks.
Ones to watch

The bye week has given several injured Vikings a chance to get right ahead of facing the Colts, and one of the most prominent members of the returning cohort is running back Jordan Mason. He was listed together with Aaron Jones as the Vikings’ RB1 this season, but a broken thumb suffered against the Packers in the season opener has seen him ruled out for the last month, leaving Jones to shoulder the burden alone.
While Jones has managed to notch two 100-yard games in that time, it’s a position that takes a physical toll that 31-year-old Jones couldn’t be asked to bear for the long-term. Having his running mate back to share the snaps will reduce the strain on Jones and also give the Vikings more options.
On the other side, the Colts have one of the best running backs in the league in Jonathan Taylor; no running back has more rushing touchdowns than Taylor this season. However, the Vikings have only given up two scores on the ground in 2026, thanks in no small part to the immovable objects of Jalen Redmond, Levi Drake Rodriguez and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins.
According to Pro Football Focus, Redmond ranks 12th among interior defensive linemen with a career high rating of 76.5, but it’s in run defense that he really shines. With a PFF grade of 90.9, he ranks 1st at his position at stopping the run. Taylor will have to run the opposite way to Redmond if he’s going to have success on Sunday.
Previous meetings

The Vikings and the Colts have met 27 times in the regular season, albeit only 10 times since the Colts moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1984. The Vikings have only won nine of those games, all of which have come in Minneapolis, including the last two in 2022 and 2024.
That 2022 meeting set an NFL record for the biggest comeback in league history. Trailing 33–0 at halftime, the Vikings scored 29 unanswered points in the last 16:13 of regulation time before Greg Joseph kicked the game-winning field goal with 3 seconds to go in overtime.
Vikings team news

Vikings running back Jordan Mason is expected to return to action this weekend after a month out following thumb surgery. He’s listed as questionable to play in the game and remains in the 21-day window to return to the active roster at time of writing.
No other Vikings go into the game with an injury designation; Christian Darrisaw and T. J. Hockenson have both recovered from concussions, Jordan Addison and Chuck Demmings have recovered from hamstring injuries, and Justin Jefferson, Brian O’Neill and James Pierre have got over ankle, knee and foot issues, respectively.
Colts team news
The Colts are missing three players from Sunday’s game, most notably TE Tyler Warren and CB Sauce Gardner. WR Anthony Gould is the other player ruled out; his status led to the Colts signing veteran Mecole Hardman to their practice squad on Tuesday. Hardman being activated for Sunday would also fill Gould’s role on punt return.
The Colts also signed punter Thomas Morstead to their practice squad on Tuesday as insurance in case Rigoberto Sanchez isn’t able to face the Vikings; Sanchez was listed as questionable in the final injury report along with LB C. J. Allen (ankle), LB Bryce Boettcher (groin) and CB Justin Walley (knee).
